The Mist

O man, its been FOREVER BUT WE AIN'T DEAD YET!!!

First off let me say that Stephen King is not my favorite. Not that I have really read any of his stuff, but it just seems so...well...long! The premise of the DarkTower series sounds interesting, but DAMN TREES WANNA LIVE.

Anyways. *SPOILERS*

The movie premise is actually pretty good. Maine resident goes to the store after a storm (notices gathering mist in the distance, but MEH ITS JUST MIST RITE?) and gets trapped there with religious nutjob. Religious nutjob (which is a horrible stereotype for everything anyone hates about Christians. She plays it well) turns store into a gaggle of raving lunatics. Crazy Lovecraftian beasts attack the store, "non-believers" are sacrificed, the military opened a portal yadda-yadda. The ending trys for irony but just seems stupid. In that situation, I would just keep driving. Once out of gas, I would walk. Let Cthulhu eat me, dammit. I'm not shooting myself.

The CGI was horrid. Like Sci-Fi Channel bad. I expected Mansquito or some shit to jump out.

1 and 1/2 out of 4 stars
