The Black Adder: Season 1

Due to just now getting a Netflix account, I'm going to be updating this blog much more often.
Now, on to the review....
The first installment in the Black Adder series certainly sets the tone for this irreverent yet smart historical comedy series. Rowan Atkinson stars as Edmund, Duke of Edinburgh (also known as The Black Adder to his faith team of nincompoops Baldrick and Percy). Even though he would like to be known as a force for "cunning" and eventually take over the throne of England, he never really does*, but gets into some ridiculous antics along the way. My favs are the "Spanish Infanta" and the "Witch Smeller" episodes. Absolutely hilarious show. A little hidden treat is Brian Blessed, who plays a totally over-the-top Richard IV. Although I'm not the biggest fan of Atkinson's Mr. Bean, I really love Black Adder. I have the other seasons waiting in the Netflix wings, and I'm sure I'll love them as much as I loved this one. Trust me, put this in your queue
